Ivy league chick lit

Leon Neyfakh on Ivy League chick lit at the New York Observer. It's sort of a mixed review of a couple different books, but I definitely must get and read Diana Peterfreund's Secret Society Girl: it sounds altogether delightful....

  1. I used to be OBSESSED with books about a certain Ivy League institution, especially back when those books were mainly written by people I knew. Then at a certain point they started to bore me. The thrill of recognizing what the [choose your seafaring term] Bar refers to only works so many times.

  2. Dammit. I didn't put Anchor Bar in this book! I knew I missed something. ;-)

Oh well, there's always the next one.

Thanks so much for the mention! Great blog, by the way. I'm so glad I discovered it. I hope you enjoy the book.

  3. A fascinating blog -- great mix of high and low, ranging wide as well, but all booky. I found you through Justine Larabalestier, when you said youl liked Brat Farrar. I got my doctorate in your department at Columbia, long ago.
